On April 28, 2016, Bolloré Logistics Brunei’s Managing Director Jean Cassiot received a distinction on behalf of the Group from TOTAL E&P Borneo BV (TEPB) who organized the World Day for Safety event held at the Radisson Hotel, highlighting its contribution to achieving 17 years without Lost Time Injury (LTI).
The Zero LTI plaques were presented on behalf of TEPB’s Acting General Manager Joaquin Lo Cane and TEPB’s HSE Manager Michael Dale to four partners, namely: Petroleum Brunei (PB) ExPro, Shell Deepwater Borneo Ltd (SDBL), SPIE Oil & Gas Services, and Bolloré Logistics. This remarkable zero LTI over is a key achievement considering the hazardous and risky nature of the oil and gas industry.
Three of TEPB affiliations followed with presentations stressing the importance of Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) conducted by three of TEPB affiliations. It was a great opportunity for attendees to learn best practices on countering and preventing any unwanted incidents in the field of health and safety at work.
Loss Time Injury can be explained as follows: if someone gets any serious injury at work which inhibits him/her from returning to work immediately, it is considered a LTI. However, if instead that person gets light injuries but manage to return to work, it will not be counted as a LTI.
Bolloré Logistics Brunei also celebrated the World Day for Safety at Work at their Marine Supply Base on April 26, 2016, with a talk presented by Occupational Health Safety Department, Ministry of Health (MOH), and attended by clients and contractors as well.
“The LTI plaque is a very important reward for Bolloré Logistics Brunei and it also encourages us to continuously improve our safety culture for both our teams and clients,” mentions Brunei’s Managing Director Jean Cassiot.
The LTI plaque emphasizes the Group’s personal endeavour in operating under good health and safety standards as well as showing great commitment and transparency between the workforce, the management and the client.
