Bolloré Logistics selected by Ministerial Platform “La Biodiv en action”

October 17th, 2016

Today, climate issues are seen as essential challenges for society, but the importance of biodiversity is still widely underestimated. As a pioneer of corporate Biodiversity commitment, Bolloré Logistics has been working on broader mobilisation in the transport and logistics sector.

The Biodiv en action platform was launched on October 4th by the Secretary of State for Biodiversity, Ms. Barbara Pompili, to catalogue and promote local actions in France and French overseas territories which protect biodiversity and take action to reclaim biodiversity.

Four Bolloré Logistics initiatives were chosen as good business practices in the fields of Education in Nature, Nature in the City and Business Biodiversity: the sustainable construction of the offices and warehouses in Roissy, Nantes and Le Havre and Bolloré Logistics’ Biodiversity policy. The Business Unit has integrated biodiversity into its CSR/Sustainability policy since 2013 following three strategic directions defined in its Biodiversity Charter: establishing biodiversity as a key corporate environmental concern, being open to and meeting customer biodiversity requirements and making its business premises all over the world relays for biodiversity. The Biodiversity Commitment certification awarded by Ecocert in January 2016 validated this global approach, preceded by the Biodivercity® label for the Roissy and Nantes sites given by the International Biodiversity & Property Council (IBPC).

For the next stage, as part of the international roll-out of Bolloré Transport & Logistics’ action plan, the CSR/Sustainability Department has just launched a Biodiversity footprint survey for all its sites around the world, which will help define priority actions for the coming years.
