Bolloré Logistics is part of the six pilot companies* which have obtained the new certification “Biodiversity commitment” launched at the beginning of this year by Ecocert, global leader in certification of organic farming and cosmetics, and recognised player in the certification of environmental management systems and fair trade.
This certification promotes the environmental responsibility of these pioneer companies which aim is aligned their economic activities and their responsibilities with respect to living things in all their diversity.
Isabelle Vampouille, director of CSR/Sustainable development Bolloré Logistics, is enthusiastic: “The Biodiversity Commitment certification awarded by Ecocert validates and rewards the strategy that the CSR/Sustainable Development management team has been putting in place since 2013. The Ecocert audit was conducted in November 2015 (in France), at the company’s headquarters in Puteaux, a location that defines the company’s global commitment to biodiversity, as well as at its operational sites in Paris CDG and Nantes, which are already BiodiverCity® certified with respect to sustainable construction. It has made it possible to verify the coherence of the biodiversity management system that has been developed, the concrete steps taken at the sites, together with a number of ongoing projects, such as the construction of a 36,000 sqm green hub in Le Havre that has integrated biodiversity into its design right from the start. The approval of our biodiversity strategy by a recognised certification entity will make it possible for us to rapidly formalise effective internal processes in order to develop appropriate local actions worldwide and to best meet the expectations of the company’s stakeholders and employees.”
End of 2014, Bolloré Logistics has already formalized its commitment through its Biodiversity Charter based on three pillars: embrace biodiversity as one of the company's environmental concerns, working with customers and suppliers on biodiversity issues and the impact of our activities, make our sites models for biodiversity, all over the world.
*The other companies are Guerlain, Séché Environnement, GSM, Veolia and Sanef.
