Bolloré Logistics standardizes its Risk Management Process for its Industrial Projects’ Activities Worldwide

January 8th, 2016

Our Industrial Projects’ teams conduct transport and heavy lift operations of cargo with exceptional dimensions, high value, and possibly hazardous materials.

The challenges for these exceptional operations are numerous, covering multiple areas and affecting both the brand’s safety and image for clients from the Mining, Oil & Gas, or Energy industries.

Lifting or transportation of such materials presents considerable physical obstacles which can be complicated by rudimentary or damaged infrastructure, but also by crossing populated areas. Therefore, special and customised measures have to be taken.

For this matter, Bolloré Logistics created new standard operating procedures using, on one hand, methods and existing operational practices, while on the other hand relying on the expertise of our network, especially in Africa and Asia-Pacific.
These good practices were harmonised and standardised into two operational management procedures, one dedicated to transport operations and a second one dedicated to lifting operations, now applicable to all our Industrial Projects’ activities.

This proactive approach describes the method for risk assessment and operational measures for carrying out the operations under the best safety and environment conditions. It requires the development of a Transport Management Plan (TMP) and/or a Lifting Management Plan (LMP).

These tools for communication and coordination empower perfect exchange between our teams and the client, demonstrating our professionalism by ensuring quality in the execution of operations.
