Since February 2016, Bolloré Logistics Mozambique is responsible for providing global logistics services to Sasol, an international integrated chemicals and energy company operating in 33 countries worldwide.
Sasol develops and commercialises technologies, builds and operates world-scale facilities to produce a range of high-value product streams, including liquid fuels, chemicals and low-carbon electricity.
With a solid track record, strong expertise and years of experience within the Oil & Gas industry in Africa, Bolloré Logistics Mozambique has been awarded this significant project to support Sasol operations. Bolloré Logistics Mozambique teams are in charge of providing end-to end logistics services to Sasol. The operations in this 40,000 sqm base include international freight forwarding, customs clearance, stevedoring, inventory management, local procurement for Sasol, implementation and monitoring of WMS for all equipment related to the drilling campaign (drilling pipe, chemical storage, casing, well heads, explosives, etc.).
To coordinate all those on-shore activities, an experienced team of 99 employees (drivers, yard crew, managers) including 95% of Mozambican manpower ensures the delivery of an excellent service to the customer.
Since operations started and as part of its continuous improvement policy, Bolloré Logistics Mozambique issued 4,853 stop cards to promote the best operational practices on this project. To date, the Group transported 6 drilling rigs including an original rig importation via Maputo, an 800 km journey to Temane. Zero accident or lost time injury were reporting since the beginning of operations. This performance follows the ones on the previous drilling campaigns where there were more than 3 million hours worked without incident, endorsing he know-how and knowledge in terms of safety in the oil and gas field.
This challenging project required the support of various Oil & Gas experts located in Mozambique, as well as in Paris, London and South Africa.
