With an annual production of 750,000 tons of copper with potential upswing for 2017, Zambia’s economy depends largely on commodity prices. The Government recognized the need to diversify the economy and open the country to investors.
Zambia's vision for the agricultural sector is to increase and diversify agriculture production and productivity. The country’s growth and development programs rest on robust information, communication and technological advances. The main thrust of the energy sector will be to expand electricity generation, transmission capacities and move away from subsidies in the fuel sector. A number of wind and solar projects are in the pipeline for the next 18 months, adding much needed capacity to the national grid.
Established in the country since 1972, Bolloré Logistics Zambia is a specialist in integrated logistics solutions. Located only 40 km away from the Kasumbalesa border with the DRC, the Hub employs 85 people and handles 360,000 tons of copper, cobalt and reagents throughout the year.
The company offers various services in the Logistics industry from Export of commodities, cement and sugar to great lakes region through the port of Mpulungu and the sub-region to mining projects, supply chain and international forwarding services to value-added warehousing services to global market leaders such as Airtel or Unilever. Today, Bolloré Logistics Zambia is the top clearing agent in the country in number of entries with an average of 7,000 per month.
