Bolloré Transport & Logistics Burkina Faso, Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ghana and Bolloré Transport & Logistics Senegal have just been re-certified under the International Cyanide Management Code (ICMC) for Cyanide operations.
An audit has been conducted by an independent body (BAM Consultancy Services) in July 2019 and resulted in our operations being in full compliance with the ICMC code. For Bolloré Transport & Logistics Ghana, this audit has also been the opportunity to certify the new warehouse and incineration operation that are running in Ghana.
This re-certification highlights our expertise in Cyanide management and rewards the efforts provided by Bolloré Transport & Logistics in Africa to minimize risks, especially for Dangerous Goods (DG) transportation.
As a reminder, the Cyanide Code is a voluntary mining industry program (gold mining) related to the use, the warehousing and transport of cyanide. It was developed under the aegis of the United Nations Environment Programme by a multi-stakeholder Steering Committee.
The Cyanide Code is intended to complement local and international regulations by providing restrictive requirements as regards to cyanide operations. More details can be found on the following website: http://www.cyanidecode.org
As far as Africa Region is concerned, only certified entities of the Bolloré Group are allowed to manage cyanide operations.
