Bolloré Logistics Celebrates 50th Anniversary in the USA

May 10th, 2019

April 2019 marked an important milestone for Bolloré Logistics USA, so we thought we’d look back to see how far we’ve come.

1969 was a big year around the world: the first man walked on the moon, the Beatles performed in public for the last time, and Concorde was testing its supersonic jets.

There was yet another important event that year: SCAC Transport USA Inc. was founded in New York on April 14th, 1969.

Since that date, the company has changed and evolved in many significant ways, but our core values have remained the same: deliver the highest quality of customer service and develop world-class global logistics solutions for our business partners.

A little history…

SCAC started as a sales delegation in 1969 in New York with only two employees. The first office was located at the Chrysler building.

TTA (Tous Transports Aériens) was founded in 1986 in California, the same year that SCAC was purchased by the Bolloré Group.

At that time, SCAC had six offices: New York-JFK, Chicago, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Baltimore, Miami and Houston (as SCAC Texas).

In 1998 SCAC and TTA merged and we became SDV, with Philippe Naudin as president of SDV (USA) Inc. until he retired in 2014. Two years later, SDV was renamed Bolloré Logistics.

Through various acquisitions (PCL, Kamden, Airlink, Pro-Service…) as well as organic growth, the company grew to over 500 employees today in 17 locations across the United States.

Success is a team result

“We celebrate 50 years as a result of all the hard work undertaken by colleagues, our dedicated customers and our committed partners. What we lacked in size in the early days, we certainly made up for in service. It always was and continues to be about dedication, integrity and an unwavering commitment to our customers. While we look ahead to many successful years, we are so thankful for the years we’ve had. Thank you to all the current and former employees who make Bolloré Logistics USA a family and for all your commitment, dedication and hard work.” Tony Rodrigues – CEO Americas.
