Organized by World Health Organization and coordinated by IAPB (International Agency for Prevention of Blindness) under the VISION 2020 Global Initiative, World Sight Day (WSD) is an annual day of awareness held on the second Thursday of October to focus global attention on blindness and vision impairment.
For the second time, Bolloré Logistics in partnership with Essilor, the world leader in ophthalmic optics and a key player in visual health, organizes an awareness workshop for its employees. A partnership that makes sense since Transport was chosen by Essilor as one of the major axes of its campaign, pointing out that "Road safety is one of the most critical areas where poor vision has consequences".
Bolloré Logistics will mobilize its employees within Europe, ASPAC and MESA regions for this day with a communication to raise awareness among its public on the importance of preserving its visual capital through prevention.
During that day, workshops will be organized inviting collaborators to adopt three good habits to improve their sight: Check their vision regularly, wear appropriate glasses and protect their eyes from glare. They will be able to access the #PutVisionFirst website to carry out an online test during the campaign. The results will determine whether a consultation with a vision professional is necessary.
Bolloré Logistics supports Essilor in its ambition to "Improve vision to improve life". A good view allows the acquisition of knowledge, access to work and social integration within its environment. This awareness campaign is fully in line with the CSR program of Bolloré Logistics "Powering Sustainable Logistics" and one of its 11 commitments of "Ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for everyone".
For the World Sight Day, do also a first test to verify your vision:
