Bolloré Logistics Awarded by Sasol Logistics Superintendent in Mozambique

July 17th, 2019

On May 9th 2019, Bolloré Logistics Mozambique was proud to receive an award from its client Sasol Logistics Superintendent for completing 3 million hours of work without any Lost Time Injury (LTI) on the Sasol Temane Logistics base in Temane, Inhambane.

Commenting this award, Mr. Miro GUARDA, SASOL Project QHSE Manager at Bolloré Logistics Mozambique said: "This award is a vindication of all the effort that our personnel put since the beginning of the project when Sasol decided to award the management of the Integrated Logistics Services to Bollore. I cannot express how much pride I have of this team and their contribution for this milestone."

Bolloré Logistics started working on Sasol's project in February 2016. Since this date, the company has provided custom-fit Logistics services to its client, such as Inland shore base management, equipment handling, storage management, stevedoring, and customs clearance.

With the valuable assistance of Bolloré Logistics' global network, the local experts successfully managed to handle the 4,500 sqm warehouse of sensitive chemical products on the Sasol T3 base along with moving the drilling rig for 13 rig moves and transportation of regular equipment's to the rigs, to support the drilling campaign.

Since the project's launch, Bolloré Logistics completed all operations on the Logistics support base without facing any kind of casualties and reached the outstanding score of 3 million hours of work without any LTI on the work site. Bolloré Logistics' Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) learning curve & implementation results on SASOL project were as well extremely satisfying for both the company and its client.

This impressive outcome resulted from an excellent level of communication between Bolloré Logistics' and Sasol's HSE representatives, the strong support received from Bolloré Logistics Paris for the HSE procedure integration, the high reactivity of Bolloré Logistics teams when new challenges would occur, and the implementation of an extended staff training program.

In fact, more than 8,000 hours of training have been provided by Bolloré Logistics experts to local workforce to ensure services' consistency and quality.

Through the training program, more than 2,500 inductions were conducted to ground staff to avoid, among other things, any misunderstanding due to language barrier, or unexpected operational slowdowns during the completion of the project.
