Transport and Logistics in Mali, Market Focus

By Bolloré Logistics Mali

Mali is a landlocked country located in Western Africa and bordered by Algeria, Mauritania, Niger, Guinea, Burkina Faso, Senegal and Côte d’Ivoire. Despite the spread of insecurity in the central regions, the Malian economy remains robust thanks to gold production and a good agricultural season. Mali's main agricultural exports are millet, rice and cotton. In the medium term, Mali's economic growth is expected to remain sustained at around 5%.

Present in Mali since 1954, Bolloré Transport & Logistics is a leader in integrated logistics solutions and has 210 employees spread over the country on the sites of Bamako, Kayes, Sikasso and Kati.

Bolloré Logistics Mali offers a wide range of services from sea and air transit to the handling of heavy and oversized parcels. Combining modern value-added warehousing services with a complete and multimodal logistics chain, Bolloré Logistics Mali relies on experienced teams who have a thorough knowledge of the region and provide fast and efficient access solutions.

In 2017, the teams of Bolloré Logistics Mali and Bolloré Logistics Senegal transported equipment as part of the construction of a gold mine in southwest Mali, 480 km from Bamako. The equipment of a great diversity (heavy packages, steel structures, habitable units, tanks, etc.) required a great mastery of the different modes of transport (air, sea, road) as well as safety rules.

In 2018, Bolloré Logistics Mali teams also participated in the construction project for Akuo Energy's Kita solar power plant. Once built, this solar power plant will be the largest in West Africa and will supply more than 90,000 Malian households.

In addition, Bolloré Logistics Mali is ISO 9001:2015 certified and received the Quality Excellence Award in 2012.
