On March 23rd, 2016, during the 2016 SITL trade show (International Week of Transport and Logistics), Bolloré Logistics Le Havre was awarded the 6PL Sustainable Logistics Performance Label, issued by the LSN association, Logistique Seine Normandie.
Le Havre agency has been a pilot company for this new label which aims to help the logistics industry adopt a sustainable development strategy. Tested in Haute-Normandie in 2015, it will eventually be deployed on the national and European territory. "This label is unifying for our agency, it involves the enhanced consideration in our logistics activities of environmental and societal aspects within the framework of the economic growth of the company, and will help to unite all employees around these new challenges", explained Antoine Girard, Transport & Logistics Director of Le Havre agency.
Companies wishing to implement this label must engage in a continuous improvement plan over three years. Ten actions have been listed on the Bolloré Logistics Le Havre improvement plan, covering all areas of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). Included in the actions dedicated to raising the awareness of suppliers and sub-contractors on the theme of CSR are the implementation of a corporate travel Plan to facilitate the mobility of employees, the introduction of OHSAS 18001 (health and safety) certification and the optimisation of the management of logistical supplies (boxes, pallets, etc.). The 6PL is based on five areas of assessment: corporate governance, economic performance, social progress, protection of the environment and energy management. At the end of the audit sessions conducted with the support of Bolloré Logistics’ CSR and QHSE Directions, Le Havre agency received a rating of 2.94/5.
Bolloré Logistics Le Havre has already received a number of certifications for its Environmental Management System (ISO 14001) and for its road activities (CO2 objective charter). The 6PL label therefore allows to "complete the picture" by specifically targeting the logistics part of its activities.
The label was awarded on March 23rd, 2016, at the SITL trade show to Antoine Girard, Transport & Logistics Director of Le Havre agency (center), in the presence of Charles Revet, Senator for Seine-Maritime and Vice-president of the Senate Commission for development of the territory and sustainable development, and Alain Verna, President of the LSN association, Logistique Seine Normandie. The two other pilot companies which have received labels are Normandie Entrepôts Logistiques and FIS Spare Parts.
