SDV Sri Lanka Handles Transport and Logistics Operations for Catamaran Replacement

April 24th, 2015

This past March, SDV Sri Lanka handled the full transport and logistics operations of a brand new catamaran replacement for Mr. Yvan Bourgnon, a Swiss sports specialist Catamaran sailor who set himself the challenge of sailing around the world on a 6.5 meter boat without on-board accommodation.

SDV was then entrusted with the catamaran replacement. Shipped from Le Havre, in France, to the port of Colombo, in Sri Lanka, the catamaran was cleared under “ATA Carnet”, was customs cleared in a day and delivered on the same day to Mirissa, located 150 km away, south of Colombo, where Mr. Bourgnon would continue its journey.

Thanks to the smooth customs operations carried out by the SDV Sri Lanka team, Mr. Bourgnon set sails on March 22, 2015 from Mirissa – Gall, in his new boat for his next stop in Djibouti, Ethiopia, which he reached recently on April 15, 2015.
