SDV Italy Successfully ISO 14001 Certified

SDV Italy has been assessed and successfully certified as meeting the requirements of ISO 14001:2004.

The ISO 14001 standard provides a framework defining rules for the integration of environmental concerns in SDV’s freight forwarding activities in order to minimize its global footprint.

Received on February 9, 2015, this certification applies to all activities of SDV Italy Pantigliate’s site: international road, air and sea freight forwarding, provision of dedicated logistics solution and integrated support service.

“SDV is proud to announce this ISO 14001 certification which is part of the strategy of our company and service provide to our customers” said Manuela Aiolfi, QHSE Manager of SDV Italy branch. “In 2014, we have reduced the amount of natural gas (-4%), consumed water (-18%), but also electricity consumption (-1%) and the amount of office paper purchased (-45%). Mandatory waste sorting for the management of the dangerous goods was conducted as well. Today, the goal is to reduce the number of business trips and emphasizing videoconferencing more” adds Manuela.
 
This certification is the first in a series since it will be extended to medium-term to the other Italian subsidiaries.
