Kenya Hosts Delegation from the Specialty Coffee Association of America

April 25th, 2017

Members of the Specialty Coffee Association of America (SCAA) were, in December 2016, hosted at Bolloré Logistics offices in Nairobi as part of an organized trip to survey Kenya’s coffee industry and look for new trade lanes opportunities.

Kenyan coffee enjoys an outstanding reputation in the world of specialty coffee. As such, the country has been a member of SCAA for the past 14 years. More recently, it has won the SCAA Portrait Country Status, which gives the opportunity to exclusively showcase and market its coffee to over 12,000 global coffee industry stakeholders during the Annual SCAA Exposition to be held in Seattle on April 20, 2017.

As a key player in Kenya’s coffee supply chain, Bolloré Logistics has the largest public warehouse licensed by the Coffee Board of Kenya and currently handles over 54% of Kenya’s coffee. Bolloré Logistics manages the final delivery of the specialty coffees including the customs clearance processes.

Bolloré Logistics had the pleasure to host the visiting SCAA members to demonstrate its capacity and commitment to this sector. This is an exciting prospect for the teams in Kenya as it may present the opportunity to provide an end-to-end commodity logistics services to the Kenyan and American specialty coffee sector.
